The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) President and TDP MP Kesineni Sivanadh announced that the Andhra Premier League (APL) will commence on June 9 in Visakhapatnam. Described as the “cricket festival of Andhra,” the tournament serves as a vital platform for nurturing talent from rural and economically weaker backgrounds.
Sivanadh expressed pride in reintroducing the league following the success of its previous edition. The upcoming APL will be held at three venues: Visakhapatnam, Kadapa, and Mangalagiri in the Amaravati capital region.
This year’s tournament will feature matches across the three destinations, with each venue hosting six days of games. The final showdown is scheduled to take place in Mangalagiri. Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh has been invited to attend the final as the chief guest.
Sivanadh emphasized the significance of the league in talent development and urged media organizations to extend their support in promoting the tournament. Seven teams, the same as last season, will participate in the APL, with each team set to play eight matches during the competition.
