The Adani Group received the Net Zero Leadership honor at the ‘India Climate Samman’ during the ‘India Climate Week 2026’ in New Delhi. The recognition was awarded by Shripad Naik, Union Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, at an event organized by the Carbon Markets Association of India.
Dr. Arun Kumar Sharma, Group Head ESG at Adani Group, accepted the honor on behalf of the organization. He emphasized the group’s commitment to promoting a low-carbon future through a science-based and scalable approach. Adani Group is intensifying its investments in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and integrated infrastructure while integrating decarbonization across its operations and value chains.
The recognition underscores Adani Group’s initiatives to enhance clean energy capacity, develop green hydrogen capabilities, and construct sustainable infrastructure to facilitate India’s energy transition. The group remains dedicated to achieving its Net Zero goal by promoting decarbonization across its businesses and expanding clean energy solutions to support India’s shift towards a low-carbon economy and its broader Viksit Bharat vision of sustainable growth.
Adani Group was recently appointed as the official partner for the World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development (WED) 2026, an International Day recognized by UNESCO and facilitated by the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO). This marks the first instance of an Indian organization being selected by WFEO to acknowledge engineers’ contributions on World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development.
Sagar Adani, Executive Director of Adani Green Energy, highlighted the significance of demonstrating that clean energy can be both large-scale and cost-effective, as well as powerful and inclusive. He emphasized that India’s model of progress and sustainability advancing together is a valuable global contribution. Adani Group’s Khavda renewable energy plant symbolizes India’s climate action and showcases the collaborative efforts of Adani Green Energy, Adani Energy Solutions, and Adani New Industries in promoting an integrated renewable future.
