In a boost to industrial and defence manufacturing in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the Rs 2,500 crore Adani Defence and Aerospace Manufacturing Plant. The plant, the largest private sector project in South Asia, will focus on producing ammunition, weapons, missiles, and defence equipment. This initiative is expected to create significant employment opportunities and strengthen the state’s position in defence manufacturing.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Adani group officials were present at the event, emphasizing the strategic importance of the project. The plant, located in Shivpuri, aims to generate around 5,000 direct and indirect jobs in the region. It will also integrate local enterprises into the defence supply chain, fostering economic growth and industrial development.
Adani Enterprises Director Jeet Adani highlighted the group’s commitment to Madhya Pradesh’s future and self-reliance vision. The plant signifies a step towards indigenization in the defence sector, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. The investment in Shivpuri is part of a broader plan to boost job creation and industrial growth in the state, with a focus on defence innovation.
The Adani Group’s significant investment in Madhya Pradesh across various sectors underscores its commitment to the state’s development. The defence plant in Shivpuri is a crucial component of this investment, aiming to contribute to the country’s defence capabilities. The project is aligned with the national goal of self-reliance in defence manufacturing, positioning Shivpuri as a key defence production hub in India.
