Adani Power Limited has formed a new wholly-owned subsidiary, Rawatbhata-Raj Atomic Energy Limited (RRAEL), to expand its presence in the nuclear energy sector. The subsidiary, Adani Atomic Energy Limited (AAEL), created RRAEL with an authorized capital of Rs 5 lakh, consisting of 50,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each. RRAEL, incorporated on April 20, 2026, in India, is a step-down subsidiary under Adani Power’s ownership.
Another Adani Group entity, Adani Energy, also established a step-down wholly owned subsidiary called Coastal-Maha Atomic Energy Limited on the same day. This new entity will focus on generating, transmitting, and distributing electricity from nuclear energy sources. The Adani Group’s recent subsidiary formations reflect its increasing interest in the nuclear power industry, aligning with India’s clean energy objectives.
India currently has 8.7 gigawatts of installed nuclear power capacity and aims to boost this to 100 gigawatts by 2047 as part of its sustainable energy roadmap.
