Actor Adarsh Gourav has released a teaser for his upcoming documentary series, “Voices of the Land,” showcasing his exploration of indigenous communities in the Northeast. Through music, folklore, rituals, and daily life interactions, Adarsh delves into themes of identity, heritage, and cultural preservation using intimate storytelling and cinematic visuals. The series focuses on four distinct indigenous groups – Khasi, Biate, Sherdukpen, and Angami – each sharing a unique bond with nature.
Adarsh expressed his awe at the communities’ profound knowledge of their environment, emphasizing the importance of preserving both nature and cultural traditions. Producer Charu Budhiraja highlighted the series’ aim to offer a genuine and immersive portrayal of underrepresented communities, praising Adarsh’s sincerity and emotional engagement in the storytelling process. The documentary, supported by Edstead, Air India Express, and Dentsu Sports & Entertainment, is set to premiere on JioHotstar in June 2026.
