Afghan counter-narcotics police have conducted operations across the country, resulting in the confiscation of 130 kg of illegal drugs and the arrest of 36 suspected smugglers. In northern Badakhshan province, authorities seized opium and hashish in Jurm district and detained one individual. The Ministry of Interior Affairs also announced the arrest of 25 others involved in drug trafficking, possession, and sales in various provinces.
The suspects were found with hundreds of narcotic tablets, crystal methamphetamine, and hashish. The Afghan government is committed to intensifying its efforts against illicit drugs, including production and trafficking, to ensure law and order nationwide. Recent arrests in Jawzjan province led to the seizure of a significant quantity of illicit drugs, including hashish and heroin, from individuals linked to drug-related activities.
Provincial police in Laghman province destroyed a drug processing laboratory and apprehended a suspect in connection with the case. Acting on a tip-off, police uncovered a drug processing facility in Mehtarlam district, seizing materials and equipment used for heroin production. In Takhar province, a suspected drug smuggler was arrested while transporting crystal methamphetamine and other chemicals for heroin production.
