An interstate operation led by the Ahmedabad Crime Branch has successfully apprehended an absconding accused in a murder case from Aurangabad district, Bihar. The arrested individual, Nazre Alam, aged 26, was wanted in connection with a case filed at Barun Police Station on April 1. The case has been registered under Sections 103(1), 61, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
The victim, Dilip Kumar Singh, received a mysterious phone call one night and left his home, never to return. His body was found the next morning near a tire puncture shop, with his throat slit, indicating a premeditated and violent attack. The investigation suggested that the accused, Nazre Alam, had been evading authorities by moving across various locations after the incident.
Law enforcement agencies initiated a thorough surveillance and intelligence operation to track down the absconding suspect. By analyzing mobile call records and gathering field intelligence, the Crime Branch successfully located and arrested Alam in Ahmedabad without any resistance. Following confirmation of his identity and preliminary verification of his involvement in the Bihar murder case, Alam was taken into custody and will be handed over to Bihar Police for further legal proceedings.
The arrest highlights the collaborative efforts of interstate policing in capturing individuals accused of serious crimes who attempt to escape justice by crossing state borders. The investigation into the case continues under the jurisdiction of Bihar Police.
