The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has escalated its public health response to the heavy rainfall by distributing over 71,000 chlorine tablets and deploying mobile medical teams round-the-clock. Preventive and relief measures are in place across all seven city zones to ensure safe drinking water and minimize disease risks. The Health Department has conducted 1,784 chlorine tests on drinking water and collected 175 water samples for testing.

Water samples for testing were collected from different zones, with varying numbers of chlorine tests conducted in each zone. The distribution of chlorine tablets has reached a total of 71,431 over two days, with the highest allocation on July 24 in the South-West Zone. Mobile medical vans are providing immediate healthcare in rain-affected areas, offering free health check-ups, medicines, and health guidance on-site.

The Malaria Department has expanded surveillance to prevent mosquito-borne diseases, inspecting houses and water-holding containers. Fogging operations and vector-control treatments have been carried out at various locations. Additionally, relief efforts include the distribution of food packets to affected families. Rainwater is being diverted into lakes to manage waterlogging and replenish dried-up water bodies, focusing on water conservation and environmental management.
