With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approaching, the AIADMK has unveiled the ‘Booth Sevai’ mobile application to enhance its booth-level election management and voter outreach. This app, currently in a pilot phase in Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts, aims to gather detailed insights into voter preferences at the grassroots level.
The platform provides booth agents with tools for efficient voter data collection, preference tracking, and coordination on polling day. Each booth worker receives a unique username and password to access the application, allowing them to group voters from the electoral roll into household units and record their voting preferences.
AIADMK sources emphasize that the digital system will replace traditional manual methods, offering features like updating voter information, marking preferences for different political parties, and generating booth slips digitally. This initiative signifies the party’s shift towards digitizing booth operations on a large scale for improved efficiency during elections.
Senior members of the party’s IT wing highlight that this digital transformation is a significant step for the AIADMK, moving away from manual surveys and data collection practices. The app’s functionalities include facilitating last-mile voter engagement by enabling instant printing of booth slips using portable printers provided to booth agents.
