AIADMK’s General Secretary, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, has challenged Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin, to a direct public debate on governance and development issues. Palaniswami’s challenge comes in response to Stalin questioning the AIADMK’s accomplishments compared to the current government’s claims.
Palaniswami highlighted that the Kallakurichi district, where Stalin made his remarks, was established during the AIADMK regime under his leadership. He criticized Stalin for allegedly taking credit for projects initiated by the previous government.
Questioning the credibility of the DMK government on governance matters, Palaniswami pointed out issues like law and order problems and protests by various groups. He also raised doubts about the effectiveness of the government’s initiatives, such as the distribution of laptops to students.
Palaniswami, in a bold move, expressed readiness for an open debate with Chief Minister Stalin, challenging him to address failures in governance and unfulfilled promises. He emphasized the importance of accountability and transparency in governance.
