AIADMK’s Edappadi K. Palaniswami expressed confidence in the NDA’s progress, emphasizing its potential for stable governance and accelerated development in Tamil Nadu. Following discussions with Union Minister Piyush Goyal in Chennai, Palaniswami highlighted the upcoming significant public rally in Madurantakam led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The meeting gains political significance as the BJP intensifies efforts to solidify the NDA’s structure in Tamil Nadu before the Assembly elections. Notably, the recent inclusion of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) in the NDA has sparked political discussions, contrasting with the PMK’s alliance announcement jointly made by Palaniswami and PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss.
Palaniswami criticized the DMK government, alleging a collapse in law and order and widespread administrative failures leading to significant corruption. He stressed the need for a credible alternative to address governance issues, expressing optimism in the NDA’s potential to drive rapid growth with a dual-engine government.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal, referring to Palaniswami as a “long-standing friend,” conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Goyal also called for the immediate removal of Udhayanidhi Stalin from government roles, citing concerns about his remarks impacting social harmony. The Madurantakam rally marks a pivotal moment in the NDA’s efforts to strengthen its political presence in Tamil Nadu.
