As part of the AIADMK’s campaign “Let Us Protect the People, Let Us Save Tamil Nadu,” former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami campaigned in Tiruporur and Sholinganallur. Palaniswami criticized Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and the DMK government during a public meeting in Tiruporur.
He highlighted the AIADMK’s achievements, claiming they fulfilled 95% of their promises, including creating Kallakurichi district. In contrast, he accused the DMK government of failing to implement even 5% of their election promises, especially in employment schemes.
Palaniswami also mentioned the AIADMK’s efforts in persuading the Centre to increase workdays under MGNREGS to 125. He promised further improvements if the AIADMK returns to power, including raising workdays to 150 and providing financial assistance to various groups.
Referring to the Covid-19 pandemic, Palaniswami praised the AIADMK’s crisis management and criticized the current government for not providing financial aid during Pongal. He outlined future welfare measures, including financial assistance, subsidies, and free sarees, to be implemented by the AIADMK.
