The Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games marked a significant moment with the official 100 Days to Go ceremony, where the torch, medals, torch relay uniform, and commemorative gifts were unveiled. The event gathered government officials, Paralympic Movement members, and the community to build anticipation for the Games scheduled from October 18 to 24.
A delegation from the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC), led by President Majid Rashed, participated in the ceremony alongside representatives from AINAGOC, Aichi Prefecture, and the City of Nagoya. The Games, set to host 3,000 athletes from 45 National Paralympic Committees, will feature competitions across 18 Para sports.
The medals, inspired by the slogan “Imagine One Heart,” represent unity among diverse cultures through sport and honor the athletes’ dedication. The torch relay uniform also embodies this theme of unity and hope, symbolizing the collective celebration of the Games by athletes, volunteers, officials, and spectators.
Addressing the audience, APC President Majid Rashed emphasized the imminent start of Asia’s largest para-sports event, highlighting the broader societal impact beyond sporting achievements. He envisioned a legacy of inclusivity and equal respect for individuals with and without disabilities, fostering a more supportive and diverse society.
APC Chief Executive Officer Tarek Souei commended the organizers for their efforts and reiterated the APC’s commitment to supporting the Games’ final preparations. With less than 100 days to go, the focus remains on delivering a successful event that not only showcases sporting excellence but also promotes accessibility, inclusion, and unity across Asia.
