After three successful seasons with Sunrisers Eastern Cape, South African cricketer Aiden Markram is set to captain Durban’s Super Giants in Season 4 of SA20 starting on December 26. Markram, known as the league’s most successful captain, led South Africa to a Men’s Cricket World Cup final and guided SEC to three consecutive finals.
In an interview before the SA20 Season 4, Markram shared his excitement about leading a new team and emphasized the importance of not burdening players with excessive expectations. He highlighted the enjoyable atmosphere of the competition in South Africa and the need for players to have fun off the field while maintaining competitiveness on it.
The upcoming tournament coincides with a resurgence in South African cricket, with notable performances in men’s ICC events. Graeme Smith, the league commissioner and former South African skipper, praised the players for their recent success and emphasized SA20’s role in nurturing talent and developing the player pool for national teams.
SA20 Season 4 is scheduled to take place from December 26, 2025, to January 25, 2026, and will be broadcast live on JioHotstar and Star Sports Network.
