Air India has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Tourism to jointly promote India as a top global tourism destination and enhance the country’s status as a significant aviation and transit hub. This collaboration aims to implement various initiatives encompassing tourism marketing, trade engagement, transit tourism, and enhancing visitor experiences. Leveraging Air India’s extensive global network and the Ministry’s Incredible India branding, the partnership seeks to boost inbound tourism and increase global visibility.
The MoU outlines plans for joint efforts in co-branded global marketing campaigns and tourism promotion through digital platforms, social media, inflight branding, and other consumer-facing channels. Additionally, the agreement will explore opportunities to extend the Incredible India branding across Air India’s touchpoints, aiming to showcase India’s cultural, heritage, natural, and experiential offerings to travelers worldwide. Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India, emphasized the airline’s role in representing India to the world as a confident, vibrant, warm, and welcoming nation.
Air India’s expanding reach, covering five continents and connecting with 40 international destinations, positions it as a key player in welcoming millions of visitors to India annually. This partnership is expected to highlight India’s unique offerings and remarkable attributes to a global audience through Air India’s modern aircraft, digital platforms, inflight experiences, and extensive commercial presence. With a network spanning North America, UK & Europe, Australia, Africa, and Asia, Air India aims to leverage its global presence to share the Incredible India narrative with travelers worldwide.
