National Security Advisor Ajit Doval highlighted that national security relies on the morale of the nation and citizens’ awareness, emphasizing it as a collective responsibility beyond just military or technological strength. Speaking at the Rashtriya Raksha University’s convocation in Gujarat, he stressed the need for security professionals to possess strong character, updated knowledge, and a results-driven approach to tackle evolving threats effectively.
Doval underscored that national security is not solely the duty of the armed forces or police but a shared responsibility of the entire nation. He emphasized the crucial role of public awareness and national morale in shaping outcomes in the security domain. The NSA urged security professionals to stay prepared for rapidly changing threats, especially those stemming from technological advancements, highlighting the importance of adaptability and continuous learning to address modern challenges.
Security, according to Doval, is an area where outcomes are definitive, with no room for second place. He emphasized that in security, there is either victory or defeat, signifying the nation’s safety or risk of existence. Doval encouraged graduating students to uphold national service with discipline, readiness, and dedication, emphasizing that security transcends the military and police, requiring coordination, awareness, and ethical responsibility across various facets of national life.
