National Security Advisor Ajit Doval emphasized the importance of maintaining zero tolerance for terrorism during the International Security Forum in Moscow. He highlighted the need for responsible nations to choose between supporting sponsors of terrorism or taking decisive action against them. Doval also addressed the significance of ensuring safe trade movement in West Asia, particularly through international waterways like the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea.
The forum, organized by the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu, focused on discussing the challenges and threats to international security in the context of the emerging multipolar world. Doval reiterated that there should be no double standards in the fight against terrorism, urging nations to make informed decisions in combating terrorism effectively.
During the event, the Indian Embassy in Russia shared that Doval met with Shoigu to discuss ongoing cooperation in defense, security, energy, and economic ties. They also exchanged views on the upcoming BRICS NSA meeting in New Delhi. Doval is scheduled to engage in more bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the forum continuing on Friday.
In a separate development, US Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Marco Rubio recently met with NSA Doval in New Delhi. The discussions primarily revolved around enhancing defense, security, and strategic technology-related cooperation, including the TRUST initiative. Both NSAs reaffirmed the significance of the bilateral Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership and exchanged perspectives on regional and global issues.
