The Ajmer Development Authority (ADA) has approved naming the upcoming multipurpose stadium near Panchsheel Vijayaraje Nagar as the ‘Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium’. This decision was made on the birth anniversary of Syama Prasad Mukherjee, thanks to the efforts of Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani.
Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee, known for his advocacy of Indian nationalism and unity, will be honored through this stadium naming. The modern stadium, costing around Rs 12 crore, is being built with state-of-the-art sports facilities to support national-level athletes and promote sporting talent.
With a seating capacity of about 80,000 spectators, the stadium is set to become a key sports and public infrastructure asset in Ajmer. It will host national and state-level sports competitions, enhancing the city’s event-hosting capabilities and providing a platform for diverse events.
Assembly Speaker Devnani highlighted the stadium’s role in promoting sports culture and offering opportunities for local athletes. This initiative is part of Ajmer’s broader development plan, focusing on strengthening infrastructure across various sectors to support the city’s growth and progress.
