Akshay Sharma from Chandigarh and Dhruv Sheoran from Gurugram are tied for the lead at nine-under 135 after the second round of the INR 1 crore Players Championship at the Classic Golf & Country Club in Nuh, Haryana. Akshay, a two-time PGTI Tour winner, shot a remarkable seven-under 65 to move up from tied 14th to share the lead, while Dhruv, a tour winner in 2024, carded a six-under 66 with an eagle on the 14th hole.
Following closely behind are Japan’s Taiga Tanaka, Kolkata’s Sunit Chowrasia, and Nepal’s Sukra Bahadur Rai, all tied for third at eight-under 136. Overnight leaders Harman Sachdeva and Jamal Hossain slipped into a seven-way tie for sixth place at seven-under 137. Akshay attributed his success to his precise ball-striking and putting skills, while Dhruv highlighted his strong start and strategic play on the course.
The competition saw a total of 50 out of 132 players making the cut at even-par 144, advancing to the final rounds. The leaderboard remains tightly contested as the tournament progresses, with players showcasing their talent and determination on the challenging course.
