All 16 workers who were trapped inside the under-construction Samardung tunnel in South Sikkim have been successfully rescued after a joint effort by multiple agencies. The workers were stuck due to a landslide that led to a suspected gas leak within the tunnel.
Rescue teams faced challenging conditions but managed to reach the trapped workers and bring them to safety. Following the rescue, the workers were taken to a local health center for medical evaluation and treatment. Authorities are closely monitoring the rescued workers’ health status.
