A distressing case involving alleged rape, blackmail, and coercion for religious conversion has surfaced in Bihar’s Kaimur district. The main accused and his wife have been arrested by the police following a complaint lodged by the victim. The accused reportedly enticed the woman to their home, drugged her, sexually assaulted her while she was unconscious, filmed the act, and threatened to share the video on social media unless she converted to their religion.
Mohania Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Gopal Krishna shared details of the incident during a press conference. The victim filed a written complaint at Ramgarh police station, seeking legal action against the accused. The incident took place on June 4 when the accused, Ekram Ansari, and his wife, Shahida Begum, allegedly invited the victim to their house under false pretenses.
The woman was allegedly given a drink laced with an intoxicant, causing her to lose consciousness. While she was unconscious, the accused reportedly sexually assaulted her against her will. It is alleged that the accused’s wife recorded the assault on a mobile phone. The couple then used the video to coerce and threaten the victim, warning of its circulation on social media if she did not convert to their faith.
Following the complaint, the Kaimur police swiftly acted, leading to the arrest of Ekram Ansari and Shahida Begum within four hours of the FIR being filed. A case has been registered under Ramgarh Police Station Case No. 150/26, and legal proceedings have commenced. Authorities are ensuring the victim’s safety and offering counseling support. The prime accused has a history of previous allegations related to misconduct towards women.
