Amaravati Officially Recognized as Andhra Pradesh’s State Capital

The Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, expressed joy as Amaravati was officially acknowledged as the state capital. This recognition, following the Gazette Notification by the Government of India, marks a significant milestone for the people of Andhra Pradesh. Pawan Kalyan credited President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for their roles in this achievement.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also conveyed gratitude to President Droupadi Murmu for approving the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Act, 2026. He appreciated the support of the Union Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, MPs, state leaders, and citizens in this process. The recognition of Amaravati as the state capital was hailed as a victory for the people, especially the farmers.

State Minister Nara Lokesh, BJP MP Daggubati Purandeswari, and various leaders from TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP have welcomed the Gazette Notification confirming Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh.
