Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh, is poised to propel the state towards a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047, according to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Naidu, speaking at a press conference, expressed unwavering confidence in Amaravati’s development, emphasizing that progress cannot be hindered.
He projected that all significant projects in the state capital will be finalized by 2028, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to inaugurate key initiatives in 2029. Naidu hailed the passing of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill 2026 by Parliament as a triumph for Amaravati, the envisioned “people’s capital,” garnering broad political support except from the YSR Congress.
The Chief Minister, celebrating the legislative milestone by distributing sweets at his official residence, thanked various political figures for backing the Amaravati Bill. He criticized the YSRCP for opposing the Bill and attempting to impede Amaravati’s progress through the proposal of multiple capitals, accusing them of ongoing obstruction efforts.
Naidu urged regional parties to respect Parliament’s decisions, highlighting the financial challenges inherited from the previous government and emphasizing the current administration’s focus on balanced development and welfare initiatives through strategic planning.
