Amarnath Yatra pilgrims in Jammu expressed support for the decision to pause the pilgrimage because of expected heavy rainfall. The administration will reassess the weather conditions before resuming the Yatra, ensuring safety. Pilgrims are advised to stay safe, monitor weather updates, and adhere to official guidance.

One pilgrim mentioned arriving in Jammu recently but acknowledged the necessity of suspending the Yatra due to unfavorable weather conditions. Emphasizing safety, the pilgrim supported the decision and highlighted the importance of preventing any potential risks.

Despite the temporary suspension, pilgrims remain committed to completing the Amarnath Yatra and are prepared to comply with any extended delays if weather conditions worsen. Suggestions were made for future pilgrims to consider the weather conditions and avoid bringing senior citizens and children to prevent difficulties.

Anshul Garg, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, announced the temporary suspension of the Yatra from both Pahalgam and Baltal routes due to adverse weather forecasts. The decision aims to safeguard the well-being of pilgrims, with updates on the Yatra’s resumption to follow after ensuring route safety and weather assessment.
