America’s leading financial institutions and major corporate philanthropists have united to introduce the “Trump Accounts” program, aiming to provide millions of children with an early financial stake in the US economy. This initiative marks a historic collaboration between the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq, with a joint opening bell ceremony at the White House event hosted by President Donald Trump.

Michael Dell and Susan Dell have pledged 6.25 billion dollars to benefit eligible American children born between 2016 and 2024, ensuring that all newborn American children will start with a 1,000-dollar investment in the nation’s top companies. The funds are intended to grow over time, potentially assisting children with higher education expenses, home down payments, or business start-up capital.

The Dells emphasized the importance of providing equal opportunities for all children, stating that the initiative is an investment in both the youth and the long-term economic prosperity of the country. Brad Gerstner, a key figure behind the proposal, expressed hopes of expanding the program to cover all children in the US, aiming to raise over 100 billion dollars within the next year to support American youth.

Support for the initiative extends to the country’s major stock exchanges, with the New York Stock Exchange President, Lynn Martin, describing it as a realization of the American dream. Nasdaq Chair and Chief Executive Adena Friedman highlighted the program’s role in broadening participation in US capital markets, emphasizing the opportunity for all Americans to share in the nation’s prosperity.

Jeff Sprecher, Chairman and CEO of the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, connected the initiative to Wall Street’s historical financing role in the US. Congressional supporter Ted Cruz likened the program to a new form of capitalism, aiming to make every child and American a capitalist owner. The launch event brought together political leaders, Wall Street executives, corporate donors, and philanthropists in a collective effort to enhance American families’ financial asset ownership.
