2018 Asian Games gold medalist Amit Panghal from SSCB and Sagar from Haryana secured victories in the Elite Men and Women National Boxing Championships at Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida. This year marks the first time that both men and women’s National Championships are taking place simultaneously at the same venue, with 600 boxers competing across 10 weight categories for each gender. Amit triumphed over Usman Mohd Sultan of Bihar in the Bantamweight category with a dominant performance, earning a unanimous decision.

In a contrasting match, Sagar faced a tough challenge from Edwin of Kerala in the heavyweight category but ultimately emerged victorious with a split decision. Lalrambuat of Mizoram also claimed a win in the bantamweight category, defeating Santosh Kumar of Odisha with a unanimous decision.
