Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that Assam is on track to become the industrial hub of eastern and northeastern India. He emphasized the state’s transformation under the BJP government’s leadership. Shah highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s allocation of nearly Rs 15 lakh crore for Assam’s development, laying the groundwork for rapid industrial growth and infrastructure expansion.
Assam is expected to experience significant industrial growth over the next five years, leading to job creation and economic enhancement. Shah expressed confidence in Assam’s trajectory towards becoming a pivotal industrial center in the region. He also commended the government’s efforts in reclaiming over one lakh bighas of land from encroachers, including the construction of the new campus for the 10th Battalion of Assam Police on previously encroached land.
Furthermore, Shah underscored the government’s initiatives to enhance security forces’ capabilities through improved infrastructure and training. He noted the positive shift in security challenges turning into strengths for the forces. Shah also highlighted the substantial infrastructure development in Assam, particularly in road networks, railways, and bridges, which have not only boosted economic activities but also improved connectivity across the state.
The Union Home Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to Assam’s holistic development, focusing on peace, progress, and prosperity. He emphasized the significance of governance, anti-encroachment measures, and continuous infrastructure investments in shaping the new Assam.
