Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his resolute stance against terrorism, highlighting India’s strong responses to terror incidents under Modi’s leadership since 2014, including surgical and air strikes. Speaking at an election rally in Tehatta, West Bengal, Shah criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Congress for their perceived leniency towards terrorists. He emphasized the government’s proactive measures in combating terrorism, citing specific operations in response to attacks.
Shah reiterated the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) commitment to addressing illegal immigration in West Bengal, pledging to identify and expel infiltrators once the party assumes power in the state. He underscored Modi’s role in eradicating terrorism and Naxalism from the country, promising similar decisive action in West Bengal if the BJP wins the elections. Shah also outlined plans to establish a dedicated unit to combat cow smuggling and eliminate criminal influence in the state.
Asserting the BJP’s electoral success in the initial phase of the Assembly polls, Shah expressed confidence in the party’s performance in the upcoming phases. With the second and final phase of voting scheduled for April 29 across 142 constituencies, Shah projected a favorable outcome for the BJP. The Home Minister’s remarks reflected the party’s strong stance on national security and governance ahead of the election results on May 4.
