Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the Trinamool Congress, alleging their involvement in various corruption cases in West Bengal. Shah, addressing a rally in Bolpur, Birbhum district, highlighted instances like cash-for-query, cash-for-job, cattle smuggling, coal smuggling, PDS scam, and illegal land grabbing, attributing them to Trinamool leaders. He emphasized the public’s frustration with the current governance and their determination for change through the upcoming Assembly polls.
Shah reiterated the BJP’s commitment to implementing the Uniform Civil Code in West Bengal if they win the elections. He expressed disapproval of the existing system, particularly referencing individuals with multiple simultaneous marriages. Additionally, he criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for failing to ensure women’s safety in the state, contrasting it with the BJP’s promise to enable women to travel safely even late at night.
The Home Minister warned against any disruptions during the polling days, cautioning Trinamool Congress members of severe consequences if they interfere. Shah assured that under BJP’s governance, anti-social elements would face strict action and urged them to stay indoors during the polling days to avoid legal repercussions. He concluded by noting the evident public support at the Birbhum Bolpur rally, indicating a shift in political dynamics in the state.
