Union Home Minister Amit Shah introduced the Next Gen CG Dial 112 service and mobile forensic vans in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. This move aims to enhance emergency response and scientific investigations in the state. The initiative includes 400 modern emergency vehicles and 32 mobile forensic vans to bolster public assistance and the criminal justice system.
The integrated emergency service, known as “Ekke Number, Sabbo Bar,” merges police, fire, and medical services into a single 24×7 platform. Equipped with cutting-edge technologies like GPS and wireless radios, the launched vehicles enable live crime scene monitoring and real-time tracking. Citizens can seek emergency help through voice calls, SMS, WhatsApp, and the SOS 112 India app.
The 32 mobile forensic vans, operating under the theme “Science on Wheels,” will conduct initial scientific investigations at crime scenes across 32 districts. Valued at around Rs 65 lakh each, these vans carry advanced tools for fingerprint detection, narcotics testing, ballistic examination, and digital forensic support. This on-site capability reduces evidence contamination risks and delays in transporting evidence to central labs, promoting a transparent and reliable justice system.
The introduction of Dial 112 and advanced mobile forensic units comes at a critical juncture as the state deals with severe criminal cases requiring prompt and scientifically supported investigations. These modern services aim to expedite investigations for heinous crimes, reinforcing public trust in law enforcement and ensuring prompt justice delivery.
