Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to inaugurate the Joint Regional Official Language Conference in Agartala on Friday. The conference will see the participation of over 3,000 senior officials, representatives, and experts from various regions of the country. Notable attendees include officials from around 20 states, marking the first such event in Tripura.
Artificial intelligence and modern technologies will be highlighted at the conference to tackle language-related challenges. The emphasis on using Hindi and other Indian languages, including local languages, to preserve cultural heritage will be a key focus. The event will also feature the presentation of Regional Official Language Awards and the release of special publications.
The Department of Official Language, established in 1975, plays a crucial role in promoting the use of Hindi and other languages. The upcoming conference is part of a series of regional conferences held annually to review progress and enhance the implementation of Hindi in official capacities.
