Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will spend the second day of his Gujarat visit in Kutch, focusing on security along the India-Pakistan border and engaging with Border Security Force (BSF) personnel. Shah’s day will commence with the inauguration of Border Outpost G-7 and discussions with BSF jawans at the G-7 border post near Bhuj. He is also set to participate in the Prahari Conference organized by the BSF during his visit.
Later in the day, Shah will visit the control room at OP Tower-1170 to assess surveillance and monitoring systems in the sensitive border area. He will observe live feeds from PTZ surveillance cameras utilized for border monitoring in the challenging terrain of Kutch. Additionally, Shah will head to the Harami Nala region for a boat tour of the creek area and partake in a tree plantation event at the jetty point.
Harami Nala, situated in the Rann of Kutch near the Sir Creek region, is a strategically crucial area due to its shallow creeks, marshy landscape, and susceptibility to infiltration and smuggling. The Home Minister is also scheduled to lead a meeting on border-related matters at the BSF Sector Headquarters in the afternoon, with senior BSF officers and security officials in attendance. This visit to Bhuj is part of Shah’s broader tour of border regions across multiple states to assess border security readiness, surveillance infrastructure, and inter-agency coordination.
