Jaipur, May 27 (IANS) In a major push to strengthen national security along the India-Pakistan border, a comprehensive ‘360-degree security plan’ has been formulated to crack down on infiltration, illegal activities, cybercrime, and cross-border drug trafficking in Rajasthan’s border districts.

Officials said that Union Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level security review meeting in Bikaner on Tuesday, focusing on strengthening security arrangements in Rajasthan’s border districts adjoining Pakistan.

During the meeting, a comprehensive ‘360-degree security plan’ was formulated to tackle infiltration, illegal activities, cybercrime, and cross-border drug trafficking. Senior officials from the Border Security Force (BSF), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Rajasthan Police, and other state and central agencies participated in the discussions.

The District Magistrates (DMs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) from Rajasthan’s five border districts were also present.

The Home Minister directed authorities to adopt a strict ‘zero tolerance’ policy against illegal constructions within 15 kilometres of the India-Pakistan border. He instructed officials to immediately identify and demolish unauthorised structures that may pose security concerns.

Special emphasis was placed on curbing infiltration and narcotics smuggling in the border belt.

HM Shah directed BSF and state agencies to work in close coordination under a joint border management mechanism to strengthen surveillance and intelligence-sharing.

In a major administrative move, the District Magistrates were granted enhanced powers to take swift action against shell companies, suspicious financial transactions, and “mule accounts” allegedly used in cyber fraud and illegal funding operations.

Authorities were also instructed to investigate fake Aadhaar cards and suspicious financial networks operating in sensitive border areas.

The meeting further reviewed measures to combat cybercrime, with officials emphasising the effective use of the national cybercrime helpline ‘1930’ for faster response and public assistance.

Amit Shah also directed the strict implementation of the country’s new criminal laws and called for stronger coordination among the district administration, police, and central agencies to ensure effective enforcement.

According to officials, similar security and anti-encroachment measures were earlier implemented in Bihar’s Seemanchal region, where large-scale action was taken against illegally constructed properties.

The Rajasthan border districts are now expected to witness intensified enforcement and surveillance under the newly announced strategy.
