The Amreli Cyber Crime Police successfully retrieved Rs 11 lakh in a cyber fraud case involving a Sydney-based Indian national. Saurabh Jolly, an Indian resident in Sydney, had transferred the money for gold purchase but did not receive the product.
Amreli Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kharat mentioned that Jolly, originally from New Delhi, had sent Rs 11 lakh to an individual in Amreli for buying gold. Despite the payment, the gold was not delivered, leading Jolly to seek assistance from the Amreli Police via email.
Inspector Kamlesh Khatana of the Amreli Cyber Crime Police revealed that the recipient of the money was an Amreli resident. Following Jolly’s complaint, the police pursued the matter, resulting in the full refund of the amount to Jolly’s bank account.
Jolly expressed gratitude to the police for their efficient handling of the case, emphasizing the importance of prompt and committed policing in combating cyber fraud. This incident underscores the significance of timely police intervention in addressing cybercrime challenges.
