The Amrit Bharat Express trains introduced in Assam and West Bengal by the Northeast Frontier Railway have become a success story for the Indian Railways. These modern and passenger-friendly trains have garnered praise and a strong response from passengers nationwide. The trains connecting key destinations like Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Alipurduar Junction, and New Jalpaiguri with major cities in India have seen high passenger utilization since their launch in January 2026.

The impressive occupancy and earnings figures of the Amrit Bharat Express services reflect their increasing popularity, affordability, comfort, and reliability among travelers. Several trains have recorded occupancy levels exceeding 100%, indicating a significant public demand and preference for these services. Presently, seven pairs of Amrit Bharat Express trains operate from Assam and West Bengal under the Northeast Frontier Railway.

Operating between Kamakhya and Rohtak, Dibrugarh and Gomti Nagar, Alipurduar Junction and SMVT Bengaluru, among other routes, these services have received positive passenger patronage. The trains have played a crucial role in enhancing rail connectivity between the Northeast and other regions of the country, contributing to regional development, tourism promotion, and economic integration.
