Rising star Anahat Singh has progressed to the women’s semifinals at the British Junior Under-19 Open Squash Championship held at the University of Birmingham. The Indian top seed secured a victory over Egypt’s Barb Sameh in the quarter-finals and is set to face Malika El Karasky in the next round. Meanwhile, Indian player Aryaveer Dewan also reached the semifinals in the boys’ Under-17 category after a challenging match against Yassin Kouritam from Egypt.
Anahat’s journey to the semifinals included wins over Malak El Maraghy from Egypt and Wing Kai Gladys Ho from Hong Kong in earlier rounds. She had a remarkable 2025 season, achieving a career-high world ranking of 28 in her second year on the Professional Squash Association (PSA) Tour and defeating two top-20 players. Anahat’s recent victories in domestic and international tournaments have solidified her reputation as a promising talent in the squash world.
In a recent match, Anahat Singh, ranked 29th in the world, triumphed over former world No. 10 Joshna Chinappa in the final of the HCL Squash Indian Tour 4. Her impressive performance continued with a win over Chinappa in the all-Indian women’s final at the Daly College SRFI Indian Open squash event in Indore. Despite a setback at the Canadian Open squash, Anahat’s resilience and skill have been evident in her consistent success on the professional circuit.
