India’s Anahat Singh and Aryaveer Dewan have advanced to the round-of-16 at the World Squash Junior Individual Championships. Anahat, the women’s top seed aiming to become India’s first-ever junior world champion, defeated Hong Kong’s Pui Yin Chole Lo in straight games in the round-of-32. Aryaveer, seeded 5/8, also secured a spot in the next round by beating South African Joseph Feast in straight games.
Gurveer Singh, Yusha Nafees, Saanvi Kalanki, Rudra Singh, and Anika Dubey faced defeats against higher-seeded opponents. Notable performances from Day 2 included Brazil’s Laura Silva’s remarkable comeback from 2-0 down to win 3-2, earning a place in the last 16. Malaysia’s Harleein Tan and England’s Dylan Roberts also progressed after overcoming tough challenges in their matches.
In other results, Pakistan’s Nauman Khan defeated England’s Gabriel Chak 3-1, Malaysia’s Doyce Ye San Lee advanced to the last 16 by beating the Netherlands’ Renske Huntelaar, and Egypt’s Habiba Rizk moved into the next round with a victory over France’s Leelou Laporte. Belgium’s Savannah Moxham and Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Alnasfan were among the players who secured wins to progress in the tournament.
