After Nitish Kumar’s resignation from the Member of Legislative Council (MLC position, speculation on Bihar’s next Chief Minister has heightened. Janata Dal-United (JD-U) MLA Anant Singh from Mokama has endorsed Nishant Kumar, Nitish Kumar’s son, as the most suitable candidate from JD-U for the role. Singh emphasized Nishant’s education, capabilities, and leadership qualities, stating he is the ideal person for the Bihar Chief Minister’s position.
Singh suggested that if JD-U retains the Chief Ministerial post, Nishant Kumar should be the natural choice. He also mentioned the possibility of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leading the next Bihar government and named Samrat Choudhary as the appropriate candidate for Chief Minister in that scenario.
Singh praised Nitish Kumar’s governance, attributing modern Bihar’s development to his leadership. He highlighted Bihar’s progress in various sectors and improved connectivity under Kumar’s administration. Singh also expressed that people from all political backgrounds desire Nitish Kumar’s continued involvement in Bihar politics as he prepares to transition to the Rajya Sabha.
Questioning the political strength of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Singh remarked on the RJD’s performance in elections and its position as the Leader of the Opposition in Bihar. He suggested that the RJD’s electoral performance was marginal, indicating that a slight decrease in Assembly seats would have impacted their status.
Anant Singh recently met Nitish Kumar, who conveyed his decision to move to the Rajya Sabha for Bihar’s benefit. Singh expressed optimism about future industrial growth in Bihar leading to substantial employment opportunities. He was recently granted bail by the Patna High Court in connection with the Dularchand Yadav murder case.
