The Andhra Pradesh government has set a revenue target of ₹1.27 lakh crore for the current financial year. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has instructed revenue-earning departments to boost the state’s own revenues and actively pursue pending central funds. Reviewing key revenue departments’ performance, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to convert investments into higher tax revenues and sustainable economic growth.
Officials reported to the Chief Minister that the State Own Revenue increased from ₹1,04,345 crore in 2024-25 to ₹1,10,643 crore in 2025-26, marking a 6% growth. Significant contributions came from Goods and Services Tax (₹33,679 crore), the Mines Department (₹10,300 crore), and the Stamps and Registration Department (₹11,047 crore). For the upcoming fiscal year 2026-27, Andhra Pradesh has set an ambitious revenue target of ₹1,27,506 crore.
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of all revenue-earning departments, including Commercial Taxes, Excise, Mines, Transport, and Registration, operating at full capacity to prevent revenue leakage. He highlighted that resolving land disputes, especially Section 22A property issues, could notably boost registration revenues. Additionally, he emphasized the correlation between increasing investments and tax revenues, noting a nearly 38% revenue growth in the first 42 days of the current financial year.
Describing districts as “growth centres,” the Chief Minister underscored that economic expansion at the district level would expedite Andhra Pradesh’s statewide revenue goals. He urged departments to embrace innovative systems, enhance the Speed of Doing Business, and leverage technology to combat tax evasion and irregularities. Furthermore, he directed the implementation of Artificial Intelligence-driven Goods and Services Tax scrutiny systems and emphasized the importance of transparency in tax collections.
To enhance revenues, the Chief Minister called for expedited vehicle registrations, municipal tax rationalization, and broader utilization of Geographic Information System mapping, drone surveys, and satellite imagery to identify unauthorized constructions and improve tax assessments. The review meeting was attended by senior officials from Finance, Transport, Excise, Mines, Commercial Taxes, Forest, Municipal Administration, and Registration departments, along with Chief Secretary Sai Prasad.
