Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led government’s commitment to ensuring financial, social, and health security for all residents of the state during Ugadi celebrations. Over the past 21 months, the government has initiated various schemes to achieve this goal. One such scheme, ‘Talli ki Vandanam,’ provides financial aid to mothers irrespective of the number of children they have.
Under the ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ scheme, farmers receive annual financial assistance of Rs 20,000 each. Additionally, the ‘Stree Shakti’ initiative offers free bus travel to women by the regional transport corporation. The state also provides free bus travel for persons with disabilities through the ‘Divyang Shakti’ program.
Chief Minister Naidu highlighted the ‘P4’ program, designed to uplift the living standards of the underprivileged by encouraging the wealthiest 10% to support the bottom 20% of society. The government plans to introduce various initiatives under a comprehensive Population Management Policy to stimulate population growth and revive the tradition of joint families.
To ensure holistic development, the state government is working on developing regional economic corridors in Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, and Amaravati. The government aims to enhance logistics by integrating ports, airports, roadways, and railways. Chief Minister Naidu reiterated the commitment to completing the Polavaram project before the Godavari Pushkarams, which will enhance agricultural prosperity in the state.
Expressing gratitude to the Central government for funding the Polavaram project, Chief Minister Naidu mentioned the need for an additional Rs 5,000 crore. The event was attended by State Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, Corporation Chairpersons, and officials, who participated in traditional Ugadi celebrations.
