Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu lauded the India-US trade deal, calling it a significant achievement for global economic stability. He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for finalizing this pivotal trade pact with the US, emphasizing that the reduction of tariffs to 18% is a forward-thinking decision that strengthens the ties between the two largest democracies in the world.
Naidu highlighted that under PM Modi’s guidance, India is solidifying its position as a key player in the global economy. He expressed optimism that this trade agreement will enhance India’s export competitiveness, opening up new opportunities for the country’s youth and farmers, including those in Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Minister also mentioned that his party, Telugu Desam Party (TDP), is a crucial ally in the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also extended his congratulations to PM Modi for successfully concluding a trade deal with the United States. In a social media post, Kalyan praised the Prime Minister for energizing India’s economy through back-to-back trade agreements, including the recent one with the US. He emphasized that the reduction in tariff rates to 18% will particularly benefit farmers by improving market access and export competitiveness, expressing gratitude to PM Modi for his proactive measures aligning with the nation’s aspirations.
Minister for IT and HRD, Nara Lokesh, hailed the trade pact with the US as a significant victory for India under PM Modi’s leadership. He noted that the decrease in US tariffs from 25% to 18% will greatly boost India’s exports and manufacturing sector. Lokesh highlighted the positive impact on Andhra Pradesh’s marine seafood exports, MSMEs, agricultural exports, and emerging manufacturing hubs, while also strengthening the partnership between India and the US. He commended the negotiating teams, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and the leadership of both nations for this substantial breakthrough.
