Amid the ongoing water dispute with Telangana, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu defended the Polavaram-Nallamalla Sagar link project, emphasizing it will not cause harm. He expressed support for utilizing Godavari River water efficiently, mentioning the diversion of water from Polavaram to Nallamalla Sagar. Naidu highlighted the importance of completing the Polavaram project before Godavari Pushkaram.
The Chief Minister praised the significance of the Polavaram project, stating that upon completion, Andhra Pradesh will lead in water resource management in South India. He emphasized the need to prevent wastage of water into the sea and highlighted the benefits of providing water to various regions through projects like Pattiseema and Nallamalla Sagar. Naidu also mentioned the opportunity for Telangana to utilize surplus water from Polavaram.
Naidu mentioned the upcoming dedication of the Bhogapuram International Airport to the nation and highlighted the efforts to save the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant with government cooperation. He expressed commitment to protecting the sentiment associated with the steel plant. Additionally, Naidu shared that Andhra Pradesh has attracted a significant portion of foreign investments and emphasized the state’s potential for job creation through various agreements and investments.
The Chief Minister announced Google’s investment in an AI data center in Visakhapatnam and praised the officials for their efforts in attracting investments to the state. He also mentioned plans for establishing the Quantum Valley in Amaravati, with a quantum computer set to be operational within six months.
