Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu highlighted a shift in perspective, noting that children, once seen as a burden, are now considered a source of income. He mentioned a scheme called ‘Thalliki vandanam’ where mothers with more children receive increased funds in their bank accounts. Under this initiative, Rs 15,000 is deposited for every school-going child without any limit on the number of children.
Naidu, speaking at a Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting, shared that the government allocates Rs 10,120 crore annually for 67 lakh children, emphasizing the scheme’s inclusive reach despite financial challenges. He also praised the government’s efforts in enhancing the public education system, citing a significant shift of 1.10 lakh students from private to government schools as a testament to the quality of government education.
Acknowledging his son Nara Lokesh’s role as the education minister, Naidu expressed satisfaction with the educational reforms implemented. He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing quality education and creating job opportunities within the state to prevent migration for employment. Naidu emphasized the importance of students pursuing education passionately, highlighting the potential for growth and job creation in major industries for dedicated individuals.
