Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the importance of Amaravati, the state capital, in promoting Telugu culture globally. At the 59th meeting of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), approval was granted for the construction of the Telugu Cultural Centre, estimated at Rs 119 crore.
During the meeting, discussions revolved around land allocations to various institutions in the capital region and enhancing infrastructure in the Secretariat and HOD buildings. Chief Minister Naidu also proposed selecting an appropriate name for the upcoming Telugu Cultural Centre and urged the establishment of a large convention center for governmental and major events.
Naidu stressed the significance of a tourism project at Neerukonda within the capital region, emphasizing its implementation as a prestigious endeavor. Plans to develop tourism across 167 acres of land in the area were also discussed, focusing on attracting tourists while showcasing Telugu heritage.
The Chief Minister expressed optimism about sports emerging as a key revenue-generating sector in the future. He highlighted the commercial viability of sports and the need for the state to capitalize on these opportunities, with the proposed Sports City in Amaravati aligning with this vision.
Emphasizing the importance of self-financed projects in Amaravati, Naidu noted the interest of several prominent companies in investing in the capital city. He underscored the government’s credibility in attracting investments, with companies like DLF showing keen interest in contributing to Amaravati’s growth.
Ministers P Narayana and Payyavula Keshav, along with Chief Secretary Sai Prasad and officials from Urban Development, CRDA, and Amaravati Development Corporation, attended the meeting. The CRDA approved various allocations, including land for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) office and other educational institutions under the Panchayati Raj Department.
Administrative approval was granted for Rs 2,316 crore for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works in the construction of the AP Secretariat and HOD towers.
