Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Forest and Environment, Pawan Kalyan, inaugurated the construction of ‘Aranyaramam’, a unique Common Facility Centre near Mangalagiri. This center, costing Rs 24 crore, will be a focal point for forest research, training, conservation, and environmental governance efforts in the state. ‘Aranyaramam’ will house the administrative and supervisory functions of the Forest and Environment Department.
Following the groundbreaking ceremony, Pawan Kalyan visited the HANUMAN gallery, which showcases wildlife rescue operations. Officials highlighted the successful completion of 185 wildlife rescues and 36 human-wildlife conflict mitigation operations by the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department in 2024. Additionally, the Deputy Chief Minister initiated the ‘Nandanavanam’ program to restore nature in an area affected by mining, symbolized by planting a native banyan sapling.
Pawan Kalyan emphasized that ‘Nandanavanam’ aims to rejuvenate greenery in regions impacted by mining activities, ensuring a sustainable environment for future generations. The event was attended by key officials including State Forest and Environment Department Principal Secretary Kantilal Dande, Forest Department Advisor Mallikarjuna Rao, and others.
