The Andhra Pradesh government has granted Rs 1 lakh each to 333 Hajj pilgrims who left from the Vijayawada embarkation point. State Hajj Committee Chairman Haji Shaik Hasan Basha expressed delight at the safe return of all Andhra Pradesh Hajj pilgrims.
Approximately 2,000 pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh journeyed to Mecca through embarkation points in Vijayawada, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu fulfilled his promise by providing financial aid to eligible pilgrims departing from Vijayawada.
Under the guidance of Minority Welfare Minister N.M.D. Farooq, Rs 1 lakh each was transferred to the bank accounts of 333 pilgrims who left from Vijayawada. The pilgrims expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and the state government for the assistance received.
The TDP-led coalition government had previously announced financial aid of Rs 1 lakh for pilgrims departing from Vijayawada to cover additional travel costs. The Hajj Committee chairman reported that pilgrims had a peaceful journey to Mecca and Medina and praised the support provided by State Hajj Inspectors and Hajj volunteers.
