Veteran actor Anil Kapoor shared on “The Kapil Sharma Show” that he was not initially meant to be part of the famous ‘Ek Do Teen’ track from his 1988 movie “Tezaab”. Originally, the song was to feature only Madhuri Dixit, but Anil insisted on being included after hearing it, despite it being a girl’s track. He even asked lyricist Javed Akhtar to modify the lyrics for him. Anil emphasized that he made the song happen, which was not originally scripted.
“Tezaab,” directed and produced by N. Chandra, starred Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles. The film, released on November 11, 1988, emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi movie of that year, enjoying a successful run in cinemas. Known for its hit soundtracks like ‘Ek Do Teen’, ‘So Gaya Yeh Jahan’, and ‘Keh Do Ke Tum’, composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, the movie remains a favorite among fans.
Anil Kapoor is set to play a significant role in the upcoming spy thriller “Alpha,” alongside Alia Bhatt, Bobby Deol, and Sharvari. Directed by Shiv Rawail, “Alpha” is anticipated as the first female-led film in the YRF Spy Universe. Additionally, Anil Kapoor’s busy schedule includes featuring in Shah Rukh Khan’s “King,” directed by Siddharth Anand. The action-packed movie also stars Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, and Arshad Warsi in pivotal roles.
