In a significant breakthrough, the Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of South District Police apprehended six members of the ‘Kachcha-Baniyan Pardi Gang’ from Madhya Pradesh after a confrontation in South Delhi. The operation stemmed from a high-profile burglary case at a residence in Sarvodaya Enclave on May 1. The burglars, identified through CCTV footage, utilized specialized tools to break into the house while the occupants were asleep.
The investigation revealed that six offenders were involved, with three entering the house and the others stationed in Vijay Mandal Park as backup. Following these findings, a FIR was filed at the Malviya Nagar Police Station, prompting a thorough investigation involving multiple police teams. Acting on specific intelligence, the AATS team set a trap near the Jahapanah Forest area on May 3, 2026, leading to the apprehension of the suspects.
The arrested individuals, hailing from Guna district in Madhya Pradesh, have a history of criminal activities. Notably, Nirmal, Ambar, and Samrat sustained injuries during the encounter. Recovered items included burglary tools, weapons, and stolen property from the Malviya Nagar case. The police have initiated further inquiries to determine the gang’s potential involvement in other criminal activities.
Senior officials commended the collaborative efforts of the police teams, emphasizing the operation’s impact on disrupting an inter-state burglary syndicate.
