In a significant development, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has uncovered an illicit Mephedrone (MD) manufacturing unit located on the rooftop of a residential house in Jodhpur. The operation led to the recovery of drugs valued at Rs three crore. The accused, Ganpatram Beniwal, was apprehended on-site for his involvement in the operation.
Acting on intelligence reports, the AGTF seized 3.055 kg of finished MD drugs and 55.725 kg of hazardous chemicals during the raid. Investigations revealed that Beniwal had collaborated with smugglers to settle debts amounting to Rs 12 lakh. He had transformed his residence into a secret drug laboratory to generate income.
The AGTF had been monitoring drug activities in Jodhpur closely, particularly the distribution of MD drugs by local peddlers. Following a specific tip-off, a specialized team conducted a coordinated night operation to dismantle the illegal drug lab. The police found evidence of drug manufacturing on the rooftop, including chemicals and equipment used in the production process.
ASI Rakesh Jakhar and Constable Sumer Singh played key roles in the operation, supported by technical assistance from ASI Ramesh Kumar Yadav. The investigation has been handed over to Additional DCP Amrit Lal Jinger, with efforts underway to apprehend the main suppliers, Asuram alias Lucky and Bhanu.
