The anti-terrorist operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district has entered its second day with heavy security deployment to locate hiding terrorists. The operation began on Saturday in the forest area of Ghambir Mughlan when terrorists hiding there fired at security forces. In response, security forces, including the Army, J&K Police, and CRPF, initiated the anti-terrorist operation based on intelligence inputs about the presence of 2-3 terrorists in the area.
Nagrota headquartered White Knight Corps of the Army announced on Saturday that contact had been made with terrorists in the general area of Ghambir Muglan, Rajouri during a joint operation with J&K Police and CRPF. Reinforcements were sent to block escape routes after contact was established with the terrorists. The operation is ongoing, with security forces intensifying surveillance in the surrounding areas, setting up checkpoints, and closely monitoring movements.
Search operations have been conducted throughout the day, with security personnel combing multiple forest areas systematically. The challenging terrain of the Pir Panjal range in Rajouri district, where the operation is taking place, includes steep hills, dense forests, and limited accessibility. The entire area has been cordoned off, and search operations are being carried out diligently. Residents are cooperating with security agencies, hoping for a swift return to normalcy.
